how does coaching differ from therapy, mentoring, or consulting?
Coaching offers a unique approach that differs from other forms of support. Rather than providing advice or solutions like mentors and consultants do, coaching creates a collaborative partnership where you discover your own insights and answers. While therapy typically addresses past experiences and mental health concerns, coaching focuses on forward momentum—helping you create meaningful change with purpose and direction. Should deeper psychological work be needed, I'll recommend incorporating a licensed therapist into your care team.
Thought work involves examining the beliefs and mental patterns that shape your experience, questioning whether they're serving or limiting you.
A flexible mindset is essential because rigid thinking keeps you stuck in familiar patterns. When you can step back and question automatic thoughts like "I'm not good enough," you create space for new possibilities. This mental agility helps you adapt to change, reframe challenges as opportunities, and respond from choice rather than habit.
Flexibility allows you to navigate uncertainty, recover from setbacks quickly, and remain open to solutions you hadn't considered—empowering you to create meaningful change rather than feeling trapped by circumstances.
Developing a mind-body connection is crucial because your body provides valuable information your mind often misses. Physical sensations like tension, energy shifts, or gut feelings offer real-time feedback about decisions, relationships, and life direction.
This connection helps you recognize stress patterns, emotional triggers, and authentic desires. Instead of living entirely in your head, you can access your body's wisdom to make aligned choices and respond thoughtfully rather than react automatically.
A strong mind-body connection supports sustainable change by helping you notice when you're pushing too hard, need rest, or feel genuinely energized by a path—enabling decisions that serve your whole self.
I offer flexible scheduling to meet your unique needs. Some clients prefer booking sessions individually as issues arise, while others choose packages for accountability, convenience, or cost savings. Regardless of your approach, we can meet as frequently as necessary to provide the support that serves you best.
I firmly believe this work should be accessible to all. To make that possible, I open three spots per week at a significantly reduced rate (or free) for those in need. Please reach out to Rachel.InnerWorkCo@gmail.com to get on the list for reduced-rate pricing.
